20 Best Body Lotion To Even Dark Skin Tone (2023 Updated)

If they made this cream in unscented I would bathe in it every day… been struggling with worsening KP on my arms and thighs. Tried a drugstore salicylic acid cream, it did improve the KP somewhat but I wasn’t satisfied with the results so I purchased a full size of the Bom Dia.

Went in blind to the scent. I will start with how amazingly well this cream performs… it smoothed out my KP so well that I can barely feel it anymore, and most importantly it evened out my skin tone and got rid of the redness.

You can barely see the little red marks. Hopefully as time goes by they will disappear, but I’m already over the moon with the results I have from Bom Dia! I have sensory issues with sticky, greasy body creams; if I have difficulties getting dressed because of sticky greasy cream or lotion residue it goes immediately in the trash.

The Bom Dia cream absorbs quickly and leaves no residue, all you feel is soft skin. Still amazed at how quickly this cream worked to help improve my skin issues. Now for the only downside to this product.

The scent. Normally I enjoy vanilla-type scents but this one is so heavy and cloying, all you can smell is vanilla woods, forget the plum and jasmine. It smells just like the 7 Virtues perfume which I don’t enjoy either.

Fortunately my husband likes this scent on me, he isn’t complaining. It’s so strong that it clashes with my perfume, for that reason I usually use it at night. But now my bed linens and bedroom smell like vanilla woods.

I would have much preferred a lighter, citrus type fragrance to go with the vitamin C in this cream. This isn’t light or sweet, it’s nauseating tbh. I’m guessing that Brazilians prefer these kinds of very heavy scents, because this clearly isn’t my idea of tropical.

I gave Bom Dia 4 stars overall because of how well it performs, wouldn’t feel right to take away more stars for the cloying scent because fragrance is so subjective. But please oh please make a fragrance-free version!.

I received this as sample in my Sephora order and was considering purchasing the full size. The fruit AHAs and Vitamin C sound like wonderful ingredients and I am happy to see more actives in body care.

I am soooo glad that I got to try this before deciding to buy. It has this really distinct scent that’s supposed to be a combination of “Amber Plum” and “Vanilla Woods”. It’s not a *BAD* smell per se, but it is kind of mediocre and I’m annoyed that it’s this strong.

I can still smell it after washing my hands and it lingers for HOURS. Who gave it permission to be this bold? LMAO. I wish they would have gone with a citrus or fruity scent because that would match with the Vitamin C + Fruit Acids thematically.

Of course, scent is subjective and up to personal preference, so I’m sure that there’s plenty of people that will love it. I’m only recommending that people try it before buying, especially anyone with a sensitive nose.

The cream itself is incredibly moisturizing and I do feel like the skin on my legs was brighter and more even a few days after using.

I am breaking down my review based on two aspects of this product, the scent and formula as I have a different opinion for each. Scent: The smell of this body cream is heavenly and long lasting. I apply this after my shower and before going to bed and I continue to smell it on my sheets days later.

If you are sensitive to fragrance, then this is not the product for you. The fragrance has a warm but fruity scent compared to its sister, the original bum bum cream. The scent is 5/5 and I absolutely love it.

I hope Rio de Janeiro has plans to make this as a shower gel. I would purchase it for the scent. Formula: I love the formula and it feels lightweight when applied. However, I’m not sure how moisturizing the formula actually is… It works well for the summer months for me, but less so during the colder and more dry Canadian weather.

I find I need to reapply as my legs in particular often feel dry and itchy the following day. I wish the formula was a bit thicker like the bum bum cream as I don’t seem to have this same issue. For that reason, I am giving this a 3/5 for the lightweight formula.

It seems I need something thicker for the fall and winter seasons. For those who also have dry skin, be aware of this before purchasing! Overall, I give this product a 4/5 rating.

Paula’s Choice 10% AHA is a game changer if you have Keratosis Pilaris! I had no clue that a lotion could be the answer to taking those annoying, tiny red bumps away. I don’t always get/have them, they disappeared for years and suddenly came back.

I dove right in on the research and this lotion was mentioned a lot. Having to get it shipped from the States and pay for it in American dollars stopped me from buying it for awhile, but I did not regret it! With continuous use, it takes my bumps away within days, you only need a little bit as it spreads very well.

I have had my current bottle for 6 months +. Now, I only use it on the parts of my skin that have KP, but still worth the money. If you have chicken skin and want something that works, Paula’s Choice is for you!.

Used it throughout 2021, a big tube that lasts well. Definitely saw and felt significant improvement in skin smoothness- both on tricky areas (elbows, knees) but also everywhere else. Am a bit addicted.

Love the strength of this product- unless you hit shaved or irritated skin (ouch!). First day of sunshine I slathered my usual SPF30 thickly everywhere and got on with my day. OMG, worst sunburn of my life! Still blotchy and peeling weeks later (legs, arms).

Clearly my new baby soft skin needs to be right out of the sun and under a thick layer of SPF50+. Be more careful than you usually are- like 4 times more!.

I mostly deal with some bumps uneven texture on my arms, and whenever I use this I notice a huge difference in my skins texture and appearance. I apply this at night, and since my skin is on the dry side I let this soak in for a couple minutes, and then top with a thicker moisturizer, and when I wake up the next morning my arms feel so smooth 🙌🏻✨ A couple things to note-There is a slight scent to this product when it’s first applied, but once it’s dried and soaked into the skin it’s unnoticeable! You’ll also want to use this on non-shave days.

Your skin is more easily irritated after hair removal and using this on freshly shaven legs may cause a stinging sensation. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that struggles with KP or just bumpiness uneven texture on their body.

I’m a general contractor and work indoors and outdoors. If it’s not the dry indoor heat then it’s the dry cold winter air wreaking havoc with my skin. (As well as coming in contact with paints and chemicals, wearing latex gloves, face masks, and all the dust and dirt kicked up from renovation work).

This moisturizer will become a staple in my bathroom. I applied this light non greasy scent free moisturizer after bathing and immediately felt it begin it’s magic. It absorbs well so there is no heaviness of a cream on your skin, no greasy mess on clothes and there is no scent so you don’t smell like perfume or a medicine chest.

I have combination skin so the non greasy formula didn’t cause any issues with blemishes or any irritation. Best of all, it is an all over moisturizer that lasts 48 hours. My skin tends to be sensitive and my face gets irritated from shaving and colouring my beard, I found this moisturizer to be just the thing to alleviate and sooth away the itchiness and red irritation I usually suffer.

Best of all it’s for all skin types and is recognized by the Canadian Dermatology Association. Very pleased as this moisturizer delivers what is promised.

I’ve been seeing this product all over social media, and, like most people was a bit leery of trying it because not everything works for every skin-type and person. But since this was so affordable, I added it to my delivery order and figured trying it wouldn’t hurt.

Oh. Oh my goodness. This smells like I wrapped myself up in a rich cocoa blanket. Not only is it non-greasy, but it absorbs super quickly, making my skin and hands feel de-vine. I rubbed this in all over my body after using a sugar scrub in the shower and covered everything but the bottoms of my feet (forgot.

) When I got in bed, I immediately noticed how rough and dry and weird the bottoms of my feet felt compared to the silky smoothness of the rest of my skin. It bothered me so much I had to get out of bed and use this on my feet–which immediately felt amazing.

You can apply this just by using your hands, or turn the container upside down, give it a good hard tap on the bottom, and opening the container upside down to rub it like a bar all over your skin. Unfortunately, it was too warm/soft for me to use it as a bar, but it quickly melts with body heat.

I am now wondering how I lived my life without this and interested in trying other Palmer’s products. Must have!.

As a dude with sensitive skin that is itchy always, I wanted to try something cheap and nature based than lotions that use mineral oil as the first ingredient (although those are the best and palmers also uses mineral oil but it’s not listed as one of the first 3 ingredients).

Pros: it hydrates well 10/10, cheap, and skin does feel smooth after application. Cons: the smell is the same as chocolate frosting, which I don’t mind but also don’t love. You can’t wear fragrance with this lotion because the scent is powerful.

Another con, you really have to work it through your skin. I spent about 10 mins on my whole body making sure it was rubbed in completely. And then it takes another 15 mins to absorb well. So definitely not the type of lotion you can apply and then put on clothing.

I think for what it is and for the price, it’s reasonable and it does it’s job. Even with the scent, it’s a solid 3 stars. If it didn’t have fragrance it would probably be 4 star product.

Okay so I’ve never been one of those women who take a shower feels wonderfully clean and then slather lotion all over my body. I almost feel as if I’m not clean anymore. However, I have tried glow recipe products for quite some time now and I’ve never had one let me down or not work.

So when they came out with this I of course had to try it. Given the fact that I was a little weary because like I said I don’t usually use body creams, I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do.

I have a tendency to also sweat when I put lotion on doesn’t really matter what brand or what kind of lotion even in the winter time I know it’s weird but that is what happens. I can tell you though with this lotion that doesn’t happen.

I’ve only ever found one lotion that I could possibly use without the sweaty thing going on. Even though I don’t use it this is the second lotion and I do use it. I apply it every night after taking my shower.

And of course if I shower in the morning as well I apply it then. It’s definitely going to be repurchased because not only is the smell marvelous, my skin is super soft. And yay it doesn’t make me sweat! I don’t feel unclean after putting it on directly out of the shower.

It’s just an all-around good moisturizer. My skin has really taking on a new life. And I don’t use anything else for it so it has to be this product! I’m not surprised however, because I’ve not tried anything from glow recipe that I don’t love.

The Watermelon Glow Pink Dream Body Cream is no exception! So happy I took a chance and tried this.

This is hands down the best body cream I have ever used. I’ve been on the hunt for body creams that contains actives so it’s great to see products popping up here and there that treat body with as much care as face, so I absolutely love this product.

Love the smell, texture, and my skin feels amazing afterwards. I am sad to say i can’t keep purchasing this though. Since its launch, i have had to have 9 bottles replaced by Mecca. I’ve had five bottles that straight up the pump does not work.

I’ve had two where the pump tube has come off inside the bottle even before using it. And i have two I have returned where the pump just stops working halfway through. Then, if I am lucky enough to get down to the last quarter, i can’t get the product out because the cream is so thick, the pump won’t work at all.

The bottle is far too thick to cut into, and the cream cannot be poured out. I just don’t get why Glow Recipe is sticking with this packaging. I feel like it is an insult to customers and to the environment.

So sad, but I just can’t continue throwing $$ down the drain on this product anymore. Glow Recipe, if you ever listen to customers, please please, change the packaging.

Ugh writing this review disappoints me so much because I really wanted to love this body cream. I have no issues with the texture of the cream itself or how well it moisturizes, it ticks all of those boxes for me.

But I just cannot deal with the scent of this product. It smells like artificial watermelon — maybe like watermelon bubble gum or a watermelon jolly rancher. Either way, I can’t tolerate the scent.

It makes me nauseous and it sucks so bad because I like everything else about this product. Unfortunately, I will likely not continue to use this. The one big benefit though is that I got this as a sample in one of my Ipsy bags.

So I’m much happier than I was able to try a sample size of it and realize I don’t like the scent oppose to purchasing the full size bottle and then realizing I don’t like the scent. So overall, if you are someone that likes a watermelon scent or you like the other watermelon scented products Glow Recipe sells, I do think you’d like this.

If you don’t like watermelon scents, stay far away from this!.

This is my favorite lotion. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the new smell, but honestly, I like it, it smells like chocolate and isn’t overpowering once it’s been on you for a few minutes. It feels good and hydrating to my skin, and helps with the ashiness on my elbows.

I have super sensitive skin, and this does me very well. I have the big bottle with the pump, and it’s way better than the mini ones. It’s perfect for spring and summer, so soothing, especially after a warm shower.

It’s also super cozy for winter months. If you wanna smell like (non-overpowering) chocolate, get rid of some ashiness, and feel moisturized, and/or have sensitive skin, I highly recommend.

(’22) IC: Daily Task – Vaseline is that brand! Along with Jergens, at one point were the only few brands you could see and trust on store shelves. Now on the scene is Cocoa Butter scent, which is not over bearing to me, but intense in moisturizing to nurture our skin.

Handy pump or squeeze bottle. This has been used by our family for years. Vaseline knows their business and their consumer. This brand has been in business for quite some time and has many used for everything under the sun.

Vaseline has elevated their brand in creating different products and are great for giving us nice smooth and healthy skin protection. It’s a brand you can trust. I would recommend it to any and everyone.

I’ve used vaseline cocoa radiant for years! Recently the formula changed which is so disappointing! For a wile I was able to find the old bottles/formula but latent I haven’t had any luck with that. The new formula/scent is horrible and it stinks.

Please go back to the old formula/scent. I’ve been reading reviews on line and it appears majority of ppl don’t like the new formula/scent. Like my self many ppl are looking for a new lotion to use. As a company/brand are you paying attention to customer reviews? Please consider bring the previous formula/scent back!!!.

KERATOSIS PILARIS. Yeah. Kp is one of my biggest insecurities honestly. I hate that my arms are red more than the actual bumps. I use a lot of kind to treat and it is effective or not or pricy. Today I want to share AmLaction lotion product because of the more affordable price.

($13) and easy to buy at Walmarl, Target, Walgreen. First, I was verry nervous to buy this because there were so many people complaining about the smell. Lol. Yep. I thought it would be unbearable, but dont worry it is slight and goes away after few minutes.

Apply 2 times daily and within 3 days. I have felt my skin is softer and smoother, and by the third areas affected with KP started to see improvement. Of couse I will combine with other exfloliate scrub.

But beleived me. It is a great product, plz dont be intimidated to try it! And BIG NOITCED -Always use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterward.

This is the only body butter I’m willing to purchase! I typically make my own body butter and use it year round because my body is dry and brands don’t make them emollient enough for my skin and/or are extreme expensive for the amount you get.

Mine is pretty heavy and feels a gorgeous soft sheen on my skin that lasts into the next day and I love that but for summer, I wanted something lightweight but does the same thing. This Butta Drop is the only body butter that does that and is now my go to for Summer! It’s $40 but I’m just now through half of it, after using it, consecutively, for all of August.

Sometimes I mix it with my fragrant body creams/lotions but most times I just use it out of the shower and it’s so luxurious, worth every penny! There’s a light scent to it, slightly tropical smelling but nothing overpowering.

I really love this product! Anything made by Vaseline is always amazing, but I love Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter products. And then it glows too? It smells amazing, like real cocoa butter, not fake chocolate, ya know what I mean? The hydration is superb! It melts into the skin, but also gives a longevity.

It’s super smooth and feels nice and quality. The glow is subtle and not glittery. It gives a nice shimmer. I would recommend!.

Like others, I noticed the new scent right away. I was expecting the traditional deep, rich cocoa butter smell, but instead found that the new cocoa radiance smell is more like the fake cocoa smell of a scratch-and-sniff sticker.

I love the way it makes my skin feel, though, therefore giving it three stars since it is a lotion and not a perfume, and it does do its job of moisturizing and conditioning really well. Buy would i buy it again? Probably not.

Instead, I plan to try the almond scent and see how that goes.

My new favorite lotion. I order this, Cocoa Radiant Lotion for myself in the men’s version. Both formula’s moisturize very well and the microdroplets of Vaseline Jelly really help to seal in moisture.

These lotions quickly sink into the skin without leaving a greasy or heavy feeling behind. I like the cocoa butter scent and that it leaves behind a light fragrance on the skin without being too heavy.

I find that this version leaves my skin a little more dewy and supple compared to the other. My skin stays soft all day when I use this after my shower. My skin also looks healthier since switching to this lotion.

I just had to review this so I could share how awesome it is with my Influenster fam! This stuff is so great, it’s actually effective for treating dry skin without being too heavy or greasy and it smells nice too! You can use it anywhere on your body, except I personally wouldn’t put it on my face.

I bought this a while ago as I needed a new moisturizer and this one seemed like it would be a good fit for my sensitive skin. The cream is T H I C C and very, very moisturising. If I’m being honest it took my body a little while to get used to it being so thick and I did break out a little bit on my chest when I first used it.

However now it’s perfectly fine and it’s very moisturising. The only downside is that it kind of smells like baby powder. Would prefer a more grown up scent!.

I have been looking for a perfect hand cream for a long period of time. And so far this one is going to be one of my favorite. It absorbs really quick and gives my hands enough moisture and hydration.

I also like it exfoliating qualities. But it is important to be aware of the fact that it increases the skin sensitivity to the sun. And it isn’t really nourishing. But looks like it is perfect for my skin now.

And maybe it is weird but I really like its smell. I can’t tell exactly how it smells, but it disappears really fast. I like the feeling that occurs to me in about couple of minutes after I use it that like I haven’t put anything on my skin.

But still have perfect hands.

I have had kp since I can remember. Its the most awful skin condition ever. I saw this and decided to give it a go even though iv tried so many products in the past. I have been using this cream for over a month now.

To begin with I was using it two to three times a week but then I began to apply it every night. well. what can I say? I have really seen an improvement in the softness of my skin. upon touching my arms I could always feel a load of bumps but they are away with now! Visibly, you can still see my KP but I’m hopeful that if I continue to use this cream as I have been it may totally banish my kp.

I would really recommend this cream but it definitely needs to be applied liberally to get optimum results.

Another fabulous body lotion by Nivea! I love Nivea body lotions – they are so affordable and they do the job well! Nivea’s irresistibly smooth body lotion is my go-to body lotion in spring and autumn, when I need a body lotion that is not too heavy and yet hydrating enough for me during the change in weather.

Nivea’s irresistibly smooth is the perfect candidate: it has a light to medium consistency, after applying to my skin it is absorbed almost instantly without any stickiness so that I can get dressed immediately.

It certain smell of shea butter which is probably the most nourishing ingredient that I can put on my skin, and yet the scent of the product is not over-powering and it does not linger for very long.

As the product name has suggested, it leaves my skin very SMOOTH and also soft to touch. I have very dry skin and this body lotion does a great job in keeping my skin hydrated in between showers. After applying it once, I do not need to top up with more moisturiser until I shower again and wash the product off.

The product comes in big 400mL pump pack which is both hygiene and is very good value for money. I would recommend this product to everyone!.

Having really sensitive yet dry skin, I am always on the look out for a new moisturiser. And with summer just around the corner, it would be nice to walk around without having my dry elbows on show to the world.

So Nivea sent me this one to try out. First impressions were really good. It is easy to put on and you dont need to rub it in very much, which would normally make my skin red. But the main thing for me is that it absorbs quickly, as I dont enjoy feeling like I have just put a moisturiser on (hopefully you will know the feeling).

And with it being in a pump bottle it is really convenient and my whole family can use it. Only thing I can fault it on is that one pump is a bit too much for everyday use, but good if you have just come out of the shower.

Perhaps there is a way to adjust the amount of moisturiser dispensed with each pump? Overall I am happy with it, exactly what you would expect from Nivea.
