Bought this compressor because I needed something light weight to carry up flights of stairs to install baseboard in a three story apartment building. Compressor is very quiet compared to compressors of comparable price and size.

What I like best is the low amp draw as the building Im working in has older wiring circuts. This compressor has not tripped a breaker yet even when using it for an eight hour day. My only disappointment would be that the tank is to small to us as a compressor to spray drywall through a hopper.

As a trim compressor I highly reccommend it.

I love this machine. I looked at those little air compressors for RV’s and actually bought one that was faulty. The company I bought it from eventually refunded me and let me keep the faulty machine.

I got it into running condition and it was basically useless for my RV’ing needs. That is when I went the extra few dollars and bought this machine. It stores compactly and is powerful. It operates on AC only, but no problem.

I have an RV generator that I pack with me I travel. This is easily worth the money. Forget those little compressors. Get the real deal and carry it on board.

I have used this compressor for years at work and decided to get one myself. It is good for inflating bike and car tires, balls (soccer, basektball, etc). Cleaning dust off computers. Quiet compressor when on, fills the tank within a few minutes and is not too heavy, thanks to the handles.

Good solid construction, good finish (should last a lifetime with care). You need to purchase the nozzle and hose accessories separately. I would not use for high pressure work (like spray paint), but for general home use, it is a great buy.

Brand new straight out of the box, I noticed the manifold containing the tank gauge, regulator and quick connect couplers, turned quite easily like a steering wheel. I detected no air leaks just rotation both clockwise and counter clockwise on the small nipple that attaches the manifold to the tank.

The pump shroud prevents a 360 rotation. This is neither safe or durable, would not last on a job site. The paint job on bottom of the tank is a little rough looking. Looks lie it was set down in dirt while the paint was still wet.

The Instruction Manuel requires, if absolutely necessary, an extension cord that is less than 50′ and with a 14 AWG or larger. This item is equipped with an 18 AWG by 7′ power cord. Talk about a voltage stealer.

This super skinny cord is not heavy duty. wrapping and unwrapping this cord on the cord keeper will subject it to fatigue and early failure. The customer is suppose to use heavy duty extension cords while Dewalt equips their equipment with the cheapest power cord on the market.

This unit runs somewhat quieter than the one I retired after 16 years of hard service but seems to take a little longer to charge up. It does charge to 165 PSI instead of 150 PSI.

Having only one gauge is unacceptable, this is the only compressor on the market with 1 gauge. Even worse is the flimsy plastic handle, totally unacceptable for a tank this weight to have a plastic handle.

165 PSI is a small improvement over the typical 150, but the 1. 5HP metabo hpt “The Tank” compressor goes to 200PSI, fills faster, and now cost the same as this dewalt. And the metabo does have 2 gauges and a steel handle.

DeWalt really missed the mark with this compressor.

Bought this compressor for my home shop. The main reason I chose DeWalt over other compressors, which are basically all the same, was the noise level. DeWalt claims theirs is only 75 dba. NOT TRUE. The noise level on this compressor is 85 dba, which is very loud.

You could never use this in a house if others are inside. My family even complains about this running out in the garage because it interferes with screen time.

Pretty much all these 6g pancake compressors are made by the same company. Bostitch, DeWalt, Porter-cable, Stanley, Black and Decker, Makita, Craftsman: all the same company. Only minor differences in design.

So just get whatever has the best value for what you want. And for me on sale at $80 off with no tools it was this one. It fills up pretty much as fast as a compressor can on a 15amp circuit. No leaks.

Worked fine. But with so-so build quality and cosmetic defects right off the bat. Paint chipping around every connection into the tank, loose plastic cover over the manifold. But it worked and for the price I didn’t care.

Really I should’ve taken this more seriously. It’s loud but a good kind of loud. A deep bass kind of loud. At 2 feet away my old compressor ran at 75db, this one runs at 85db, which technically means its TWICE as loud, but if you told me I had stand next to one of them for 10 minutes I’d take the 85db model in a heartbeat.

I couldn’t stand within 20 feet of my old compressor when it was running but can tolerate this one fine. The difference is the pitch and vibration. My old compressor rattled and ran at a higher pitch.

This one is a steady bass. It’s just a more tolerable sound. Its like comparing a screaming baby to a V8 rumble. Here’s the real problem. It gets hot quick. Max duty cycle is 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off, which most people will never get close to anyways since it fills much faster but I did once when the cheap drain valve came open and I didn’t take notice soon enough.

On a 65F night, with no sun and barely a moon, and outside with full ventilation after running for less than but close to 5 minutes because of the loose drain valve mine had reached a temperature most would consider burnt to a crisp.

I didn’t have time to take actual temperature readings but I estimate he tank itself was at least 100-120 degrees F, the rubber hosing outside the engine housing was too hot to touch, maybe 160-170F, and the internal components, though I couldn’t touch them, got hot enough that the heavy metal engine began to melt through the flat plastic base of the engine cover so that now instead of a flat base raised above the tank with significant clearance I now have a deformed base where you can see the distinct imprint of the engine where it started to melt through the plastic until it stopped when it hit the tank.

So now it makes contact with the tank. Shining a flashlight into the housing shows obvious heat damage on the metal components some of which most definitely reached temperatures far beyond what is safe, easily 300-400F.

The compressor still works but sounds completely different since it rattled against the tank now and gets hot even faster since there’s no clearance between the tank and the base. So this lemon is going bsck.

I could try a warranty replacement but I’m within the return window so might just do that even if it means I have no compressor until the next sale. Good thing there’s pretty much one version of these things on sale somewhere or other at all times, and I’m pretty sure this was just a lemon because other models didnt come with the cosmetic defects that mine had right off the bat.

I bought this to replace my old Porter Cable pancake that bit the dust after nearly 20 years. First, this model is an obvious rebadge of the newer Porter Cable compressor but it’s $10 cheaper (regular price).

My old compressor came with two hoses and a brad nailer, this one comes with nothing at all but the unit itself in the box. Not that it matters to me because I could re-use the ones I had, but in terms of value if you end up spending money for those tools there are other options that are much better.

That said, for my needs and getting this on sale it meets all my expectations. It’s as loud as my old one, definitely not one of those “quiet” compressors, and it fills with air in the same amount of time.

I have a big 35 gallon compressor, but it’s not mobile. I needed something for projects outside my garage, such as putting a shingled roof on the chicken coop or filling tires farther away than my driveway.

I’ve been using this one for over a year now and it works great! Staplers, nail guns, air chucks, and my blow gun all have been used in much more mobile situations. I was able to top off all four tires on our car this morning from the tank at max pressure to start, but without having it plugged in.

There are two disappointing issues with this compressor. First, the round grounded prong in the electrical plug pulled out the first time I removed the plug for the electrical outlet. A brand new compressor, and an expensive one at that, the grounded pin pulls out? Well, when you look at it, it’s a very cheap, thin-gauge prong.

Unlike high quality materials expected in professional equipment, this prong is flimsy at best. I have tight-fitting electrical outlets, but I’ve never had a grounded pin break. Now I’m faced with either returning the entire unit to the store or cutting the low-quality plug off and replacing it with one that is suitable for such a piece of equipment.

It makes me wonder about the quality of other materials are in this product. Second, it takes an inordinately long time for this compressor to build up pressure; especially for a 15 gallon unit. In summary, the quality of this product is suspect.

I got my compressor (along w/ lots of air tools) from a guy who was moving & didn’t have room at his new home for the equipment. I can’t say enough good things about it. Noise level? Loud, but hey, it’s a high volume air compressor.

Placement of the drain valve? Poor, but hey, I suspect it was put at the bottom to ensure the tank emptied when opening the valve. I plan to add a 90 degree male/female angle connector between the tank & the valve, moving the valve out of harm’s way & adding larger wheels if that doesn’t solve the problem.

Customer Service? I’ve asked two questions & got promptly exactly what I needed.

Bought it at SAMs five years ago,so I have plenty of experience with it. First impression: A great compressor for the price: 200 PSI, 5 SCFM, Large but not bulky tank, regulator, etc. After those 5 years of light use, I’ve found many less than great points: 1) The electric motor produces a lot of sparking at its brushes, but it happens that the motor cooling fan pumps the air through the motor and discharges it through louvers in the cover, and because the sparking is not subtle, the air is ladden with Ozone from the sparks, and the defective design places the Air Inlet Filter too close to the circular opening of the cover, located under it, so that the compressor cylinder PICKS UP that Ozone-ladden air INTO the air receiver.

As you may know, Ozone is the worst rubber degrading chemical! With this design, you will end up pumping Ozone into your rubber hoses, automobile tires, etc. and you will end up breathing some of that Ozone too.

So I modified it to seal the cover floor and added a 2″ long 1/2″ pipe nipple, to relocate the air filter farther away from the ventilation louvers where the cooling air form the motor is discharged.

2) My unit has had many small air leaks everywhere even from new, leaks in the gages, the hoses, and the small manifold, so it ends up having to restart every hour or so, even with zero air consumption, that wastes energy and money too.

3) DeWALT saved too much in the base and the wheels, so that the water condensation purge valve is too low and is easily damaged if you roll your compressor over rough terrain, and the wheels are just too small.

4) And WORST aspect: the design lacks a discharger valve to start the compressor against a low pressure. Suppose you want to use a high pressure air for whatever purpose, setting the regulator to, say, 170 or 180 PSI.

you begin using the compressor, and the tank starts to go low but still is around that high pressure, As you consume air, the low-pressure switch will TRY to RESTART the compressor, but Guess what: the tank is still at a HIGH pressure, so the electric motor pulls a HIGH AMPERAGE just trying to turn the shaft AGAINST the high pressure: IF the electrical outlet or the extensión cord is NOT truly HEAVY-DUTY, the voltaje drop will cause a BURNT MOTOR.

just read the many reviews of failed motors! In order to correct that design defect, one has to add a discharging valve, together with an additional check valve, to allow the poor motor to turn freely by discharging against an open-to-the-atmosphere valve, and only when the compressor is already running,the discharging valve is closed and the compressors sees the high air pressure in the tank.

BAD DESIGN from DeWALT. 5) The supplied air inlet filter is TOO SMALL (again DeWALT’s cost cutting!), and has too small holes in its plastic housing. You can easily re-drill them to a larger diameter to avoid restricting the inlet too much as when is came from factory.

CONCLUSION: Is is good because of oilless design, 200 PSI (disregard those highly OVERRRATED “225” PSI, it is usable to 200 PSI). But, you need to correct the ozone pick-up problem, the numerous leaks, the too small gages and regulator (restricts flow to tools like an impact wrench, so I had to replace it with a Larger one), and a not inexpensive solution for the electric motor restarting problem.

Good unit IF you like modifications and tinkering, not good for the person that has no time or patience to correct an incomplete and mediocre design product. 6) Still with all my modifications, my compressor is TOO LOUD compared to way much better designs.

I am tired of its noise, and plan to get rid of it soon. YMMV.

I ordered this item based on the features and product reviews. Unfortunately it arrived with a manufacturing defect. There are three main components to this unit: the compressor, the tank, and the gauge assembly.

When I went to remove the unit from the box it was clear that the compressor wasn’t properly attached to the tank. It looks like you should be able to attach it by removing a couple of screws, sliding it down onto the support legs, then shifting it over to lock it into place.

That sadly does’t work since the gauge assembly prevents you from shifting it over far enough, so to get the compressor it appears you have to remove the gauges from the tank. This is more than I wanted to mess with on a brand new tool.

I tried calling Dewalt support but that didn’t go well either. After calling the 800 number listed on the instruction booklet and waiting for quite a while, the lady said I called the wrong number and that they don’t handle air compressors.

She forwarded me to someone else. After waiting for several more minutes I finally got through. I gave the person the model number, but then she said they don’t handle that model number compressor. I also tried their online chat support, but after sitting and waiting for 45 mins no representative ever answered.

I boxed up the unit and am returning it for a refund.

quality air compressor good for most anything around the house and general DIY stuff. I’ve used it for finish nailers, grinders and assorted products with no real complaints. It is a little loud (but I’ve had louder) and the air hose leaked after about a year of use (needs to be thicker material).

Overall very happy, just fire it up and it works and works and works. great reliablity.

This is the best compressor I’ve ever had. I’ve had around 5 in various styles, depending on my project and location. Most of them worked OK, but were annoyingly loud. I wore ear protection so I didn’t go crazy.

Especially in a small work area or even my garage. No compressor ever came close to being so quiet – the decibel rating is true. Believe it. Other than that, it just works reliably and pumps out the air volume I need.

What else could you ask for?.

My wife bought this for me for Christmas this year (2021). The unit took minimal assembly and it was very easy to do. It came with enough oil to get you started which is great. After the 30 minute break in, I let it cool off and then ran it to build pressure.

It does build pressure quickly and the output regulator is easy to use. It’s quieter than my old Central Pneumatic 8 gallon unit but these are still fairly loud. Checking with my db meter, it does run about 80db at about 5 feet away.

It’s certainly not bad running it in the home garage, even with the door closed.

I use a 3HP 60 gallon compressor daily however it just died! I went to HFT & bought a twon cylinder replacement pump for it but until I have time to install it, I needed some source of air. Normally I wouldn’t bother with this type of compressor.

motor & pump as one unit, but it was for temporary use & good enough to get me by for a day or two. My initial inspection was somewhat surprising. Everything was included! Even oil! After minor assembly, wheels, handle, oil.

I powered it up. It ran relatively quiet and filled the ten gallon tank pretty fast. It ran all my air tools with no problem. I didn’t plan on keeping it when I bought it. again, just a temporary solution.

But after using it, I really like it! This little compressor really earned my respect. It doesn’t take up much space so I’ll find a suitable spot in my shop for it. After using it, I realized that most of the time, I don’t need the capacity of the large one.

I’ll keep using this one until a big job comes along where I need more air.

I bought this for a garage compressor for airing up tires in the cars and motorhome. I love the oil lube setup as opposed to oil-less. Its very small and compact yet with 135psi it can even handle the big tires in a motorhome or tractor and trailer.

It looks really nice and well built but I bought the 2 year warranty just in case. It comes with a small bottle of oil and has a break in procedure to follow as well. I also love the easy to use drain valve in the bottom with a lever instead of a screw thats hard to use like on my old Kobalt unit.

I bought this compressor last year to use on a car restoration project. It replaced my 30 year-old Sears compressor that finally coughed up a bearing (that I have been able to replace- good back-up).

I needed the DeWalt mainly for a Harbor Freight sandblasting cabinet and painting. The blast cabinet gobbles up a ton of air (requires like 20 CFM) that this compressor can’t keep up with (as expected), so I have to stop every 10 minutes or so to let it catch up.

That’s fine, you can only blast for so long anyway. But I have blasted many, many parts and it got the job done. As for painting, so far I have only sprayed epoxy primer using an Eastwood HVLP gun that only requires 5-9 CFM.

The compressor was GREAT for that- it only occasionally had to turn back on to refill. 5 plus stars for that! I was a little disappointed at the set-up on the compressor when I bought it. The two pulleys were quite a bit out of alignment- way more than the manual called for.

So much for American Made. I changed the oil after a few hours of break-in running, and then filled with the Royal Purple compressor oil after a month or so. I’m working in a detached barn with 20 amp service and it’s able to keep the compressor running OK.

If it’s very cold I have to let the pressure run down low before running the motor or it will trip the breaker, but after it runs to fill up and warms up it restarts with no problem. Since I don’t have 220 in the barn this is about the most compressor I can manage, and it does the job in my situation just fine.

I bought this same model 4 months ago just to have in my garage for small impacts, air blower, angle grinder and such. I ran it 4-5 hours and drained the compressor oil and refilled with the compressor oil that tractor supply recommended.

I’m going to do it again in 15-20 hours of use. The original break in oil had quit a bit of Metallic in it from parts breaking in. I also replaced the drain cock with a brass sub, elbow and ball valve to make draining condensation off easier.

I also installed a ball valve between the regulator and quick disconnect making it easier to unhook air hose. So far it hasn’t been a bad compressor for the money. Time will tell. I own a larger 120 gallon, and a couple 60 gallon compressors, but I wanted this one to accomplish small jobs and operate nail guns for carpentry work and it seems to be a good fit.

It pumps up to a true 155 psi.

Bought this compressor to replace my SpeedAire unit which is probably at least 30 years old. It came with the house when I bought it. The tank finally rusted out. This new DeWalt compressor is much much much more quiet than my old compressor and is portable because it has wheels, where my old unit did not.

Fills up from zero to about 150 psi in around 6 minutes. So far very happy with it, but have only used it a couple of times as it is now winter and I don’t do a lot of work in the cold temps. Only a few things to caution you about and this is why I knocked it down a couple of starts for quality.

When I went to do the 30 minute break in procedure, I checked the oil level sight glass and could not see any indication of the oil level. I even rocked the unit back and forth trying to see the oil level, Did not know if it was shipped empty or over full to the point where the level was above the glass.

Decided to open the drain plug and held a measuring cup under the opening. The drain plug was very hard to turn because of the amount of paint over the plug, but once I added an extension over my allen wrench I was able to break it loose.

To my relief oil did came pouring out, but I found that it was actually 4 ounces over full from what the manual says is correct. Poured the correct amount of oil back in and then the level showed where it should have been, halfway up the sight glass.

(Wife wasn’t too happy that I used one of her measuring cups to check this by the way!). I then opened the tank drain plug to do the run in procedure and at least a quart of water came out all over my garage floor.

Not sure why there would be that much water in a new compressor, but perhaps they do a run test at the factory which may have added condensation into the tank. This drain plug is very difficult to get to, so I suggest you add a drain plug extension hose to the bottom of the unit like I did.

Under $20 and worth it. The only other thing I had to adjust was the positioning of the blow off valve. The opening of the valve was pointing straight up so that when the compressor reached full pressure it would briefly blow high pressure air straight up just as the compressor stopped running.

Not safe in my opinion if you happened to be standing near the compressor when it finished filling. I cranked the valve around a quarter turn to direct the air stream to the side instead of up into my face.

Will report back if anything changes once I start using it more. Like it so far.

Bought this compresser 2 years ago. Had to change pump just under a year. don’t like the handles there to short to bring back to move. front side is heavy. tire brackets and front floor brackets not set right bad design.

To low to ground can’t get to drain plug to drain water and I just broke that moving to a different outlet to work on things. now can’t get plug out. (heat,drill, tapped, easy out,) plug still in nut hole.

I needed an air compressor that was on wheels, plugged into a 120 household current, and had at least 5 CFM to meet my plasma cutter needs. This met those requirements. The unit was delivered to my home and placed in my garage on a pallet.

All good. I ran it for a 30 minute warm up, and next day connected it to the plasma cutter and it worked fine. So price, delivery, and performance were all good. As others have noted, the drain is really awkward to use as its so low.

I went to a big box store and bought a replacement drain that extends to the front and is easy to reach and install. I would recommend this. Three other nagging drawbacks. The on off switch is mounted upside down.

Honest. Not an issue other than, well, how did it get out of the factory that way? Second, the air intakes on mine do not have wing nuts to remove to check the air filters. Mine apparently screw off like a jar lid, except they refuse to turn.

A call to Dewalt was less than helpful, as I was told they screw off (except mine don’t). A second call will be necessary, and perhaps they have more of the original design. Finally, my owners manual was printed with so little ink that the first 15 pages are almost invisible.

I was told that perhaps i could download a copy and print it at home as she couldn’t send a replacement. (At the Dewalt site, the manual to this unit was ‘page not found’. No help there. So to summarize, good price, good delivery time (two weeks), product works fine with minor quirks and tweeks, and a couple of things to be resolved (ability to access air filters and a readable owners manual).

Hence a 4 star instead of a 5 star.

I needed a replacement compressor as my old one had pinhole leaks in the bottom of the tank. This compresssor attracted me due to the brand, tank and motor size and separate motor and compressor units.

Down the road I could replace either the motor or compressor if needed unlike direct drive units. For the bad side of this unit I found that it did not like cold weather. In Wisconsin, at this time, the temperature is dropping.

This unit is in an unheated garage with the temperature in the 20’s. I use it for an adjacent heated woodworking shop. Upon the recommended startup, with the tank drain open, it seemed to start and run ok.

However after closing the drain and using it, the motor seemed to struggle. I found it would trip the motor reset and also the 20 amp circuit breaker. Even with the tank drain open the motor would struggle to get going.

Replacing the circuit breaker made no difference. Since the motor can also be 220 volts I rewired the motor per the decal. I also had to add an additional 220 volt outlet from my welder circuit. So with 50 feet of 10/2 grounded cable, an additional 220 volt outlet and an adapter for the end of the compressor cord it starts and runs great.

If this unit is in a higher temperature setting maybe there would be no problem. Also the drain on the bottom of the tank is a problem. It is too close to the ground and not easily accessible. I added a 90 degree fitting with a hose and gate valve attached to the axle.

It makes it much easier to drain. I like the size of the unit and feel it was a good choice.

4 days into a husband wife off grid DIY project and the compressor stopped working. Sent it back for warranty and there technican said it wasn’t covered. This was a lightly used unit with very little usage up until the build.

Dewalt should stand behind this but they keep brushing us off. Would not recommend!!!.

If you need something to air up tires I suppose this would be a fine unit. But it won’t even keep up with a die grinder, or any of my pneumatic tools for that matter. I’m pretty sadly disappointed. Not what I was expecting.

I bought this air compressor to do light duty in my garage. It takes forever to fill the tank and it could not even keep up with a DA sander to sand half of a fender. That’s with using top quality Ingersoll Rand da sander that does not require as much CFM.

Had I known it would perform like this I never would have bought it. Very well-constructed looks like Tarzan but performs like Jane.

So to be clear, I purchased this little compressor solely for shooting up trim. Within the last year I bought brand new air 16ga, 18ga, and pin nailers. For that reason alone, I could not justify dumping them because the newer battery nailers were out.

I prefer air, and so I decided if I wanted to be somewhat ‘cordless’ this was the compromise. The compressor works and functions just fine. It seems reliable, has worked as should, it is quiet enough, (For an air compressor) and it has met my needs.

I would have given this little guy a 5 star if it were not for the length of time it takes to initially fill up and refill. I will say that I have seldomly had to sit and ‘wait a second or so’ to have it fill up to set a nail, but it does kick on very often.

Look I get that the machine is only 2 gallon, however, I believe due to the length of time it takes to fill up, it is set to begin that stage earlier. In order to not lose the tank pressure to set an 18 ga brad nail.

Those 2 points would really be my only complaints to the non 5 star rating. Otherwise, I still use it on all my jobs, it is lightweight, and it has my nailers functioning as it should. I may put all dewalt products on a 5 star expectation always, and just think since most of my tools are almost 5 star quality, I was hoping this would be as well.

I bought this a few months back hesitantly since I already had a 8gal hotdog compressor that was fairly newer but all my finish guns are still pneumatic and it’s main use to was to help cordless those somewhat instead of replace working tools with cordless options.

Well fast forward to this winter and I had a few roofing/framing/siding projects come up and my hotdog compressor from a lesser brand decided to give up the fight 3/4 way through a siding project. This compressor not only bailed me out in a jam and finished the siding project, but also framing as well! Now with that said, this is only a 2.

5gal tank and IS NOT intended to run heavy demand tools like a roofing/framing nailer or it will cycle and probably wear the motor quite a bit faster. Story here is this is a quality very well made and thought-out tool.

I also liked that it is light weight enough to still be convenient, takes up next to no room in the truck, and doesn’t use hardly any battery to notice. I’ve used with a 6ah and 12ah flex battery and both batteries have lasted longer than me on any given work day.

Bought this as a remote compressor to run a small air pump. Used it for 1day. Would not build pressure. Being I was in a remote area and needed it then I took it apart to see if I could fix it. The unit uses a reed type seat to hold back the air it compresses and it was cracked in half.

I found a feeler gauge and modified it to get through a bind. When I got back I checked on parts. None were to be found yet. Poor designed reed system. Being I had to take it apart no warranty go figure.

I have about 25000. 00 in Dewalt tools and this is the only one I would never buy again. Very disappointed.

Compressor is super solid and pretty quiet for the price. That being said, mine showed up with a broken regulator that wouldn’t allow me to dial down the pressure. The female coupler on the unit was also pretty low quality.

I could have sent the unit back in to CPO but then I wouldn’t have it around for a week or so while they swapped the bad reg for presumably another bottom of the barrel one. Took the compressor to my local tool shop, got a decent regulator and fittings for $20.

So all in all, I still ended up with a great compressor for under $200. Tank and motor are in fine shape and that’s what matters.

I unpacked the compressor There is no information about the unit. No operators manual, no assembly instructions The only thing in the carton was the compressor and one unmarked bottle of oil. The only information was a notation on the shipping box that oil was removed prior to shipping.

These are excellent compressors they are very quiet and do the job of a much bigger compressor. They are excellent when you don’t want to listen to you’re much bigger compressor or don’t have room to haul one.

Owned it for a few years with very limited use. Wasn’t thrilled when the auto shutoff stopped working once the tank reaches full pressure. Compressor will keep running even once pressure relief valve goes and lets out the air.

Warranty has obviously expired but still took it to the Dewalt factory service shop to get repaired. They told me that this compressor is NOT a Dewalt made tool and that a company called MAT makes them and just pays to be able to put the Dewalt name on it.

Said they won’t fix it because it’s not their tool. Even with getting paid to use their name, they won’t stand behind the product. Unbelievable. Most of my garage is fitted out with Dewalt tools. Really regretting my brand loyalty.

Used it only for a few days so my experience is rather limited. Operation proceeded as expected with the turn of a button. No leaks or any other issues. Vibration during operation required to place it on a rubber mat to prevent it from “walking” all over my garage cement floor.

Daily draining also require the purchase of a drainage kit, basically a 1 ft tube with a valve that attaches to the draining valve and allows easier opening/closing of the valve, since the location of the valve at the bottom of the tank makes almost impossible to reach.

I wanted a compressor mainly for HVLP and latex spray painting. I researched on and on about what you MUST have to be able to spray HVLP. Many say you need a 240v 80 gallon compressor that delivers 13-15 CFM.

That would require a 240v plug in my garage, tons of storage and thousands of dollars. I decided I did NOT want an oil lubricated engine since it has been known to cause issues with HVLP systems. I am very happy with this unit! It has plenty of capacity to push an HVLP gun.

I’ve used several guns now. Some requiring less than the 7. 7 CFM this unit delivers, others that require more. It handles all of them just fine for a serious garage DIY’er. Don’t let the marketers fool you! Considering I don’t spray for 60 minutes at a time.

Considering much of my spraying time is spent moving my project, mixing paint and waiting for my project to dry, this has more than enough capacity. When spraying multiple coats on a cabinet I built, the compressor maybe filled 1 or 2 times in an hour of working, re-positioning and waiting.

No big deal. It takes about 5 minutes to fill up initially from empty. When working, it takes about 2 minutes to fill. It starts filling again around 110 psi or so, and finishes at 150 psi. The unit is loud.

But not as loud as some cheaper units. My brother hasa pancake compressor and it is horribly loud. I typically leave the garage when it is filling up. Or I wear hearing protection when in the garage.

But it doesn’t really fill up that often, so it’s not a big deal. And, I don’t absolutely have to wear hearing protection. The biggest surprise is how much I use other pneumatic tools. I’ve been using the crap out of my Harbor Freight Staple Gun, nail pin gun and especially my high volume turbo air sprayer.

That thing ROCKS. Although it does suck through the air quicker than any other tool I own. But I can use that to spray out the entire garage! And speaking of a pneumatic stapler. My wife and I have a 15 year old dining set and all of the chair coverings are completely ruined.

They are leather and have ripped down the middle. The manufacturer wanted over $1000 bucks to repair all 6 chairs. My wife went to Joanne’s and bought 6 yards of fabric on sale for $20 bucks. I used my $25 Harbor Freight 20 gauge stapler, a $10 staple puller from Hobby Lobby and re-covered all 6 chairs myself.

It took longer than expected. Maybe an hour each to pull the massive amounts of staples from each chair and another hour each to re-cover each chair. But this project alone has paid for my compressor, got my wife on board with the purchase and frankly, I think I did as good of a job as from the original factory coverings.

For the unit I bought an in-line air regulator and water filter. I also bought a 100 foot retractable hose and mounted it in my garage. I can reach from the garage to my back yard with that retractable hose.

Because of that, I’ve rarely moved the unit from its resting spot. Although, it isn’t that heavy and is easy for me to move when needed. BTW: It is pretty fat and takes up about 2 foot square of space.

I do have it on a 20 amp fuse. I pretty much think it needs that 20 amps. Although, I have it sharing that circuit with a freezer in my garage. But they’ve only had contention 1 time that caused the fuse to trip.

But that was after I accidentally toggled the unit off then on, then off quickly. Highly recommended for serious DIY use.

I bought this compressor 8 months ago. Have a few 4gal compressors that couldn’t keep up with a framing job we were doing. It is a beast. Solid construction. Weighs almost 200lbs, so only comes out when we need some serious air.

Works great. Put together in Wisconsin. Looks all-American except for the pump which is made in Italy. I’ll bet 95% of the competitors pumps out there are made in China or India so this was a pleasant surprise, and it runs like a Ferrari.

I ordered an optional continuous-run switch. Rolair helped me select the right part and told me where to find it. Really good people on the other end and American! Not only is it great at running nailers, it pushes enough air to run our texture hopper all day, too.

A little pricey, but quality always is a little more. Never regretted this purchase and am now a big Rolair fan myself. Acme did a great job of delivering this bulky item for a great price as well.

This is a top of the line air compressor, rolair is one of the remaining American made companies that make a product for use by generations. It isn’t a “throw away” tool. This is meant for hard use for many years and then to be rebuilt and used for even more.

I just love my new air compressor. Been the Framing industry’s standard for years. Just make sure to run it on a 20+ amp breaker, and you will need a 3/8th outer thread air coupler before you get started.

They were super helpful shipping and communicating with me. Belt drive rely is the way to go.

Worked fine for 6 months. Stored then moved to new house and it filled with air, held steady pressure and fully released with both valves. But when I hooked up hose it refused to provide any air! Also got extremely hot and smell of electrical fire.

WAS under FACTORY WARRANTY but because I didn’t purchase the POWER PLUS warranty from T & Supply, I got a complete runaround when I tried to get it repaired or replaced!!!! The company’s lack of taking responsibility and standing behind their warranty is the reason for the review.

Will NEVER purchase from either Porter Cable or Tractor & Supply again.

It does what is supposed to do and does it’s well and quick. I’ve only used it a few times airing up tires, my truck takes 65 psi and this does it without hesitating. I only gave it 4 stars because it is rather loud.

My wife even commented on how loud it was when I was on the driveway and she was in the house. And not knowing it’s longevity yet I can’t give it 5 stars. I also must note that the first one I bought when I got it home and opened the box it looked like it had been used for years! It was covered with dust and the gauge covers were even cracked.

So TC should get dinged on that.

Decent for being on sale at the time of purchase. No hose or connections in the box so swapped the stuff from my broken compressor. Quieter than the old compressor it replaced. It’s not to heavy and move it around the garage often.

Could be filled and transported to fill a flat but doesn’t hold the air when off for more than a day.

As a major DIYer, my husband and I are constantly trying new products, building items and upgrading. We already have a 6 gallon craftsman compressor and love it. However, some projects short on space and outdoors it can be tough carrying around everything that entails.

We recently created a new mailbox and flower bed streetside and this was a perfect example. This cordless compressor was easy to carry out to the mailbox, as it is much more lightweight. My job 5imo was cut down because I could easily carry this with one hand and I was so surprised by the power of this little guy! I had more than enough juice on one battery to pop in over 200 nails to create my dream mailbox with surrounding flowerbeds! Next up, was our guest bathroom! This bathroom is quite small, and remodeling with two adults was not fun- but using this small compressor was a breeze! No awkward giant cords, and again, I was very surprised by the power this thing has! I was able to add new baseboards, wainscotting and trim still on the same battery charge from the mailbox! I was pleasantly surprised by this small compressor- the small size, lightweight design and simplicity are all amazing! Most importantly, this little guy functions just as well as the big boys! I see this lasting many years to come and craftsman has impressed me once again.

This air compressor has been by far one of the best that I have used for my do-it-yourself projects at home in the garage. This brushless, cordless air compressor is light and small in form factor and is packed with power and performance.

The exterior design is slee, modern and attractive. The packaging was well done and the directions for using this machine are simple and easy to understand. This has been used on countless projects thus far.

I originally bought one of these compressors as a gift for my father in mid 2015 from a different supplier. He really liked it so I bought one in Aug 2015 (from CPO, it is now May 2016) to serve as a more portable compressor compared to my Dewalt D55146.

First, it showed up with a bent carry handle and a cracked gauge lens. No big deal, it was a recon and it didn’t effect operation. Come winter, my father and I BOTH started having trouble with our compressors.

They will NOT start reliably in cold weather! You can here the unit struggle to start then it will either trip the overload or suddenly pick up speed and work fine. It’s a gamble. Apparently the “soft start cold valves” don’t do a damn thing.

Now the compressor always starts hard no matter the temp. It also draws so much power I cant run it off my generator (portable was the whole point of buying this thing). My LARGER D55146 compressor runs just fine on my generator and draws a 75% load.

This SMALLER one pegs out the load meter at 125% and trips the circuit breaker. I hope CPO honors their warranty or I will be even more upset.

I actually received this compressor as a gift a few years ago and it sat in his box until a few months ago. Recently, I used to fill the tires in my RV a couple of times and today it won’t build up any pressure over 15 lbs.

My little off brand compressors ran for 15 years and this beast dies after 4 minor uses. Now I am supposed to take it to a service center and pay to have it fixed? This kind of low quality has gotten far too common.

I was hoping to use this product on an addition that my partner and I were working on. So we had three guys and three hoses ready for action. It was a little chilly the morning of our first try with this compressor(mid 30’s), but nothing like what the winter will bring for our job sites in a normal year.

It was unable to start well right off the bat, keep in mind that I did do a break-in period as recommended by the manufacturer the night before. It was quiet and it recovered quickly so we used it a little along with our older compressor to see if it would get broken in a bit? The next day I couldn’t get it to run consistently with out popping it’s onboard breaker/reset.

UNUSABLE! This is the first disappointing product I have received from CPO, so I won’t give up on them, but there is a risk in buying reconditioned products I guess.
