You don’t have to be a Christian, or even religious, to benefit from reading this book and taking the advice offered regarding romantic relationships you are in. “Boundaries in Dating” is an excelent resource to have and read in order to be prepared to set boundaries in your life and maintain a healthy dating relationship!.

My partner and I have read 8 dates together and LOVED every minute of it!! We also use it in our role as pastors as a tool for couples.

This is written from the Christian perspective,nurturing one’s own personal relationship with God, and also to share with one another. The authors believe that life is lived “from the inside out”- so they address one’s spiritual commitment and understanding through such topics as love,prayer, forgiveness,and purity.

A real strength opf the book is its relatively short chapters,listed Scriptural verses for further meditation,and exercises to complete that you can then share with your partner. I initially acquired the book for mty adult daughter, and believe in giving her this book it was one of the most practical things I could do for her to develop her understanding of practical spirituality.

This book has a variety of topics for dating couples. However the contents is more suitable for couples in their early 20’s. I felt certain topics should have been written with more biblical insight.

David Richo’s writing style is exquisitely eloquent (without being long-winded) which makes the content very memorable and digestible. I continuously find myself re-reading sections of the book to fully absorb the material; usually I chew through books fairly quickly but this one is put-downable in the very best way.

Would highly recommend this to any adult hoping to mature in their relationships, whether intimate, platonic, familial etc. I anticipate coming back to this book time and time again throughout different stages of relationships over the course of my life.

David Richo crystallises and explains the complex world of relationships and psychology beautifully and clearly. This book is a wonderful summary of what science tells us effects our relationships and what our hearts/spirits need.

It says the same things I had guessed and had been telling my brother. Stop hashing and rehashing. It is the past, you know why it happened, you can’t change it, take responsibility for yourself and move on with your life.

My therapist recommended this and it’s amazing! Through a quick test, you discover your attachment style. I personally like this because it shows why your attracted to certain types (attachments). It spoke on behaviors and how to work through them.

I love that it shows you what to look for in certain types, giving you the tool box to see potential partners through a new lens of perspective. Great and easy read!.

I ordered this book because Levine was described as an authority on attachment theory in the Boston Globe. I thought I was getting a book about the clinical concept, but instead it is dumbed down and, in what is obviously a marketing ploy, focused solely on love relationships and how the layperson can diagnose oneself and ones partner and apply the theory to fix everything.

It’s good and honest that the authors do not take full credit for developing the whole clinical theory, but their bibliography fails to list a single article let alone foundational text by the guy they credit as the “Father of Attachment Theory.

” That’s really sloppy, and throws suspicion on the quality of the rest of their work.

Soft and comfortable. Fits well, but runs big. Ultimately happy. That said, I had to return for a smaller size than usual which is a little more fitted in the torso than other hoodies. Lighter weight, too.

Return process was not smooth or turnkey. I had to follow up to get replacement sweatshirt (I think I got lost in the shuffle) and had to make my own label, etc, but ultimately things are good. Still happy with final product after several months of wearing.

The plot of a stranger asking someone to be their fake girlfriend and attend a wedding is an ancient trope, adored and adapted by many writers of varying genres. For this reason, my initial impression while reading The Wedding Date was that it resembled a story you might read on a fanfiction website.

Its a concept that has been done by so many people, making it feel like you might have already read the book before even if you haven’t. However, as the story continued, and the main plot moved from the wedding shenanigans to the relationship development, the narrative shifted from fanfiction-like to genuine.

The chemistry between the two characters was absolutely adorable and it felt realistic, though their lack of proper communication was very frustrating for me personally. There were certain moments where I wanted to fling my book across the room in annoyance.

However, the cuteness always brought me back on board when I continued reading. However, despite the chemistry between the two leads, I felt like a different aspect of the story grabbed my attention the most.

Alexa’s program for helping the youth of the Berkeley area immediately grabbed my attention and touched my heart. Furthermore, the connection between the project and Alexa’s sister Olivia only furthered my admiration for this aspect of the story.

I loved it so much, in fact, that I almost wish it had been the focus of the story, with Alexa and Drew’s relationship serving as a side-plot. It makes me excited to see what type of stories the author will publish in the future.

Overall, I would rate the entire book 3. 5 stars!.

4 Show more Review I read this book in one sitting. I need some time to bask in it before I wrote a review. This is one of those books where I was sad when it ended. I won’t say too much because I don’t want to spoil it.

But I will say this: if you are looking for a romance novel that has very steamy (but not trashy) love scenes, funny moments, and enough emotional angst to make you keep turning pages, then this is the book you want to read.

I am absolutely in love with this book. In fact, I think I’m going to read it again this weekend because I just can’t get enough. The characters all had such good depth. I feel like if I ever visit California, I would actually run into Alexa or Drew or Carlos in a donut shop.

This book had the squee effect, for sure. So much so, that I bought my own copy after I returned the copy I had back to the library. Yeah, it’s that good.

This cute romance is an adorable, fly by the seat of your pants journey that perfectly balances a light-hearted, laughter-filled relationship with the demands of two high-powered professionals in intense job fields (politics and medicine).

The dynamics of an inter-racial relationship were well-played without being heavy-handed, both Alexa and Drew come across very genuinely. I enjoyed the realistic portrayal of how different genders handle relationship discussions – we see Alexa seek out a few close friends about the budding romance, while Drew only talks to his one guy friend, and then only after he’s had a few beers.

Alexa’s relationship with her sister is featured more than I was expecting, and I found the subplot about Alexa’s plans for a teen arts rehabilitation program as well thought-out as the main romance storyline.

A fun, light, fast read.
